The almost completely 5 star reviews are merited. I know it's custard but I'm gonna call it ice cream. It was excellent, I had the shark attack and the peanut butter cups were delicious and crunchy. My wife had the salty shack and she loved it, this is arguably the best I've cream place on the island.

Absolutely delicious frozen custard! They have a great menu showing their island favorites but you can also build your own “shackit” by choosing however many toppings. They also had shakes, floats, cookie sandwiches, and even a fridge to take something home for later. The staff were all super friendly too. Some of the best tasting frozen custard I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to come back.

Love this place! Our group ended up here basically every night due to the variety and how great the custard is. Staff were also a highlight. It's fantastic to be given a sample just by walking in the door without having to ask. There are numerous good ice cream places on Sanibel, but The Shack is the best by far.

First time here—server was very helpful walking through the numerous options. Custard with mix-ins was a refreshing treat. Hawaiian shaved ice was on par with Maui quality. Only caution is eating outside at picnic tables, insects were very aggressive on biting the legs.

She was very friendly and offered us samples before we ordered. The vanilla custard is to die for!! I also liked their flavor of the day. I imagine anything would be great there! Large menu. Colorful, comfy outside seating too

This place offers delicious ice cream and so much more!!! Comfy outdoor seating, friendly staff, and prices are low. This is a unique and cute local spot on Sanibel Island. The Shack of Sanibel is definitely worth the hype!!!

Extremely helpful and informative staff. Clean location. My wife got a Sundae and my Daughter got their themed Halloween treat. I don’t eat a lot of sweets but enjoyed a small snow cone the girls also enjoyed hotdogs, made how they like. 10/10 recommend
